My birthday is on Thursday of this week.
I have been celebrating for a little over a week with friends and family.
I know some people may not like the thought of turning 40, but I figure hey what I can do about it. I feel that growing older can only mean growing wiser and more joyful. I know that my moments of joy will pass, but so will my sorrows. I will try to live them, learn their lessons and let them go. And in the meantime, a few good laugh lines are proof that I’ve enjoyed the journey along the way.
Life may end tomorrow or it may end in 60 years, but either way keep in mind the question asked by the poet Mary Oliver: "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
So here is how I will spend, or things I will do, the last week of being 39...
• Dinner with my wonderful family and my Bff
• A whole afternoon spent with Maxwell
• Lunch with friends
• Shopping with friends
• A martini or two
• Bubble bath or two
• Lots of hugs from Maxwell
.Getting a manicure and a pedicure
.Having Tammmy give me rocker hair for the concert
• I will try to tell Brett what a wonderful husband he is at least once every day
• Tell my mom daily how much I appreciate everything she does for me everyday
And of course I have to work at my job which I love most of the time and do some laundry and a little bit of housework before my two BFF's and I head on a girls trip to Baltimore to see my favorite band and have a weekend of celebrating turning 40 (we all do this year,) and how lucky we are to be young (yes, we are still young), happy, healthy and still look great! I am so blessed.
Happy Birthday to me!
